X100 COATING & RELEASE FOR CONCRETE FORMS

CONCRETEFORM
X100 is an aromatic one-package, polyurethane protective coating and sealer. The product cures by reaction to airborne moisture to a hard film with outstanding abrasion resistance, toughness and flexibility. X100 has a maximum tensile strength of 4950 psi. X100 will dramatically increase the life of wooden forms and considerably reduce waste in the process.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

X100 is recommended for protecting concrete forms and wooden floors on trailers, boxcars and hopper cars against weathering and attack from water, oils, chemical and acid solutions. X100 will dramatically increase the life of wooden forms and reduce waste in the process.

Extinguish all sources of ignition and insure adequate ventilation. Wear approved respirator for volatile organic compounds. Wear rubber gloves, safety glasses. Avoid contact with skin.

Wood must be dry and free from dust, dirt, grease or oily residues. Previous finishes should be sanded off using #80 to #100 grit sandpaper. Remove all dust. All wax, dirt, grease, oils etc. must be completely removed by scrubbing with a suitable cleaner. Fill and seal all cracks and joints with a suitable wood filler.

The first coat is diluted using 10% xylene to allow good penetration of close grained hardwoods. X100 can be applied using an automotive type spray gun or lambs wool applicator. Rolling is not recommended because of it’s tendency to create foam or air bubbles in the product. This coat should be allowed to dry tack free (2 to 3 hours approx.) before applying a second, full strength coat. Do not allow more than 8 hours between coats or the second coat will not adhere unless the previous coat is sanded. A third or subsequent coats may be added at 3 hour intervals if increased protection is desired.

A nearly full cure is achieved overnight under conditions of normal humidity and a temperature of 20ºC. Hardness will increase over a period of 5 to 7 days when the coating reaches maximum cure. Tack free curing time between coats can be accelerated by using vaporizers in the vicinity of the work being performed.

X100 coverage is effected by the porosity of the various substrates to which it is applied and will vary on the first coat from 250 to 350 square feet per U.S. gallon (3.78 litres). The second coat will vary from 350 to 450 square feet per U.S. gallon.

X100 Concrete Form Coating is available in 1 US gallon, 5 US gallon and 52 US gallon containers.
