PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Safe-T-Plex system is a combination of a single part, acrylic,
elastomeric roof coating and a fiber backed roof seam tape
possessing incredible adhesive and waterproofing qualities. The
coating forms a tough, resilient membrane over aluminum, steel, sheet
rubber, asphalt roofing, shingles, fiberglass and plywood. Because
Safe-T-Plex is made from only the highest quality, 100% acrylic resin,
it can be used on flat roofing with zero slope. Safe-T-Plex will never
dry out, chalk, or crack. The system is resistant to impact,
temperature extremes, and the effects of intense sunlight. Developed in
consultation with the Rohm & Haas Company, Safe-T-Plex Elastomeric
Coating offers long term maintenance-free protection - up to 20 years
or more! The Safe-T-Plex® Elastomeric Roof Coating system has
been proven in industrial steel roofing applications. It’s ability to
endure the constant expansion, contraction and water ponding issues
associated with these roof structures made Safe-T-Plex a natural choice
for RV roof protection. The product offers superior durability, cold
weather flexibilty, watertight performance and reduced cooling costs,
as well as superior adhesion to a wide variety of roof surfaces. Most
notable is the material’s ability to withstand constant movement
without cracking.

Coating is applied over the entire roof according to our instructions,
in two coats. If the coating does not perform as stated during the
guarantee period, Polycoatings International will provide the original
purchaser with replacement material to repair the affected part of the
coating. Failures due to acts of God, fire, structural deterioration or
defects, mechanical damage intentional or accidental, are excluded from
this guarantee.

use. Do not thin. Spray: Airless Sprayer 3000 p.s.i., 2
g.p.m. capacity , #631 tip. Brush: Good quality synthetic bristle
brush. Roller: Long nap, Safe-T-Plex roller. Apply 2 coats at 100 sq.
ft. per gallon each, allowing approx. 3 hrs. cure time (tack free)
between coats. Make sure all tape is well covered with Safe-T-Plex Roof
Coating.
Safe-T-Prime 522 for EPDM Rubber Roofing
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Safe-T-Plex 520 is a single part, acrylic latex, elastomeric roof
coating designed specifically for application over aged EPDM, Hypalon
and TPO membranes Because Safe-T-Plex 520 is made from only the highest
quality, 100% acrylic resin, it can be used on flat roofing. Prior to
application, a single coat of Safe-T-Prime EPDM Roof Primer is applied
by squeegee and allowed to dry overnight. Safe-T-Prime is a 100%
solids, solvent-free, moisture cure urethane which prevents oxidization
and promotes optimum adhesion of Safe-T-Plex Elastomeric Coating.
10 YEAR GUARANTEE
Safe-T-Plex Roof Coating is guaranteed against manufacturers defects
and guaranteed not to crack or peel for a period of 10 years from the
date of application, provided that all materials are applied by a
qualified applicator and the coating is applied according to our
instructions. If the coating does not perform as stated during the
guarantee period, Polycoatings International will provide the original
purchaser with replacement coating to repair the affected part of the
coating. Failures due to acts of God, fire, structural defects,
mechanical damage intentional or accidental, are excluded from this
guarantee. Polycoatings International is not responsible for any
labour, property or other consequential damages or costs incurred in
the original or any replacement application. Except as stated above, we

PREPARATION
Do not apply if rain, frost or heavy dew is forecasted over the next 24
hour period. Temperature must be at least 15ºC to insure a
proper cure. All surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry and free of
any oil, grease or dirt. High pressure water washing is recommended.
Apply Tape-Kote Seam Tape around any object that protrudes through the
roof, making sure to apply half of the tape edge to the roof and the
other tape edge to the object.
APPLYING SAFE-T-PRIME PRIMER AND SAFE-T-PLEX 520 COATING
Do not apply coatings if temperature is less than 59ºF
(15ºC), or if frost, rain or heavy dew is predicted over the next
24 hours. Coatings are ready to use. Thinning is not required or
recommended. Apply one thin coat of Safe-T-Prime EPDM Roof Primer
at a rate of 175 to 200 square feet per gallon, using a roof squeegee.
Do not apply this product with a roller as it will introduce air
bubbles into the coating. Allow to dry over night.
Apply 2 coats Safe-T-Plex @ 100 sq. ft. per gal., allowing 3 hrs.
between coats.
Spray: Safe-T-Plex 520 Coating can be applied using a high pressure
airless sprayer, (Graco GMAXII 7900, Titan Speeflow 6900 or similar)
3000 psi., 2 gpm capacity. Spray tip should have a .031 orifice with a
12” - 14” fan width (Graco #631 or similar).

PREPARATION
Do not
apply if
rain, frost or
heavy dew is forecasted over the next 24
hour period.
1. All loose
gravel
must be removed from the roof. Gravel that is well imbedded in tar can
remain. DO
NOT TORCH THE ROOF SURFACE. This will bring oily residue to the surface
and
impede adhesion of the coatings. Tar must be at least six months old
before
coating can be applied.
2. Roof
surfaces
containing loose soot, dust and debris left from gravel removal must be
vacuumed using a large industrial vacuum system. Roof surfaces
containing
chemical contaminants, oil, grease, or wax deposits must be cleaned
with a
detergent de-greaser and rinsed thoroughly with high pressure water
blast. Roof
surface must be completely dry before proceeding.
3. Inspect
roof for
structural damage, areas of ponding water and CORRECT these according
to good
roofing practices.
4. Inspect and repair or
replace as necessary, all drains and flashings. Note: All rusted areas
must be primed with
NEVEROX Anti-Rust Emulsion at
least 24 hours prior to the application of Safe-T-Plex 520 Roof Coating.
Thinning is not recommended.
Spray: High pressure
airless
sprayer, (Graco GMAXII, Titan 6900 or
similar) 3000 psi., 2 gpm capacity. Spray tip should have a .031
orifice with a 12” - 14” fan width (Graco #631 or similar). Apply 1

Neverox® is a single component, synthetic resin emulsion.
Neverox® is cured by a chemical reaction with rust (iron oxide) to
form a black, durable, protective barrier against further
corrosion. Neverox® will perform well on bright, clean
ferrous metal substrates, as it requires only trace amounts of iron
oxide to react. In addition to deactivating rust, Neverox® doubles
as an optimal primer to which most paints, urethanes and epoxies will
adhere. Neverox® is an excellent, stand alone, black coating for
wrought iron work.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Neverox® should be applied at full strength using high pressure
airless spray. The product can also be applied by brush or roller for
field repair applications. A mitt can be used for application to pipe.
For new steel application, all traces of oily residues must be removed.
Washing with hot water and detergent or degreasers is recommended. For
rusted steel, remove loose rust, oily residues, salt or acidic
deposits. Neverox® will bond well with tightly adhering rust.

Stir or shake gently before use.
This product can be brushed, dipped or
spray applied to the surface. Do not apply if rain appears imminent.
Product should be allowed to dry for several hours before being
subjected to rain. Unlike many other water repellants, this product can
be over coated to provide even greater protection. Apply a second coat
after a minimum of 30 minutes, but no longer than 6 hours.
NoZorb® contains an effective biocide which prevents mold growth
and mildew. This product will perform well in dip tank applications.
